Alexander James "Alex"  Blair
(Retired Brooklin Concrete, Past Noble Grand Odd Fellows Lodge # 165, Life long member of Brooklin United Church, Member of Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 152)

After an 18 year courageous struggle with cancer, Alex passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on January 19th 2017 at the age of 86.

Loving husband and best friend of Marion (nee Ormiston) for 64 wonderful years. Loving father of Terry (Lynn) and Donna (Dave). Dearly loved by his 3 granddaughters who he called his angels Kelly, Crystal and Shannon and his 3 great-grandchildren Sequoya, Tallia and Lincoln, his little angels. Brother of Marion Buller (Art) and Margaret Wilson (late Vernon) predeceased by his parents Alex and Clara Blair, sisters Blanche, Gladys, Estella, Bernice, Mildred and brother John.

A kind and gentle man and life long resident of Brooklin will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby 905-655-3662 on Sunday January 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A Celebration service to honour Alex will be held in the Barnes Chapel on Monday January 23rd at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation for Cancer Care or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
