Obituary for Doreen Smith
Passed away at her Muskoka paradise with her family by her side on Thursday September 29th, 2016 at the age of 82.
Loved wife of the late Hector M. Smith (1993).
Much loved mother of Judy Pardy and her husband Mark Morrison of Oshawa and Kim Van Hoof (late Rudy) of Whitby. Pre-deceased by her son Edward Evenden and her daughter Lynda Soloman.
Cherished Nan of Kenny, Jennifer (Kris), Lindsey (Travis), Darryl, Ian (Tara), Trevor (Amy), Amanda, Melanie (Dave), Melissa (Mike), and Lisa. Greatest Nan of Kendra, Jolon, Dayne, Aliyah, Raegan, Mason, Mercedes, Maurice, Maliyah, Noah, Austin, Ashley, Shauna, Jessie, Cody, Dawson, Kennedy, Mikey and Noel.
Survived by her brother Rick Irving and his wife Pat of Oshawa. Pre-deceased by her brothers Jim Irving and Arthur Irving. Survived by sister-in-law Betty Irving of Bobcaygeon. Doreen will be forever missed by her companion Miss Mollie.
Doreen will be fondly remembered by many life long friends including the Muskoka Glens ‘family’, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Many thanks to the CCAC of Oshawa and Huntsville, Paramed care givers Oshawa, Carepartners caregivers of Huntsville and all of the Palliative Care Team in Huntsville for making our mother’s final wishes possible.
Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Saturday October 22nd, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service in the Barnes Chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
In memory of Doreen, memorial donations to Huntsville Hospital Hospice Volunteers would be appreciated.
