Bates, Benjamin Alexander
(June 1, 1933 – April 28, 2016)
Passed away at Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital on Thursday April 28th, 2016 at the age of 82.
Dearly loved husband of the late Gladys Bates (2002) and the late Lorraine Bates (2011)
Survived by his brother Bobby Bates and pre-deceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Loving and devoted father of Larry Bates of Oshawa, Raymond Bates and his wife Cecile of Barrie, Dale Wiggins and her husband Ben of Orillia, Donna Bates of Orillia and Ben Bates Jr of Nova Scotia and special friend Liz McCormick.
Cherished Papa of Angela, Shawn and Christina Wiggins and Ashton Bates. Pre-deceased by two infant grandchildren.
Great-Grandfather of Shylah Meawassige.
A lover of Teddy Bears of all kinds forever in our hearts and never to be forgotten.
Ben was laid to rest beside his wife Gladys on Wednesday May 4th at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 519 Laclie Street North, Orillia on Saturday May 7th at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church Beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In memory of Ben, donations to Watch Tower Society would be appreciated by the family.
