Condolence: My deepest condolences to Ann and Amy. I first meet Bob when I hung out a Gary Magwoods race shop in Scarborough after school. I then met up with him again when I was marshaling at Mosport. He alway's had time to talk racing and give advice to a novice. He will be missed.

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Anne and Amy. My dad worked with Bob at Cassco Machines and I worked in the office there from 1996 - 2001. I have not seen him in a long time but I bet he's still whistling. May you rest in eternal peace Bob.

Condolence: Dear Anne and Amy,
So sorry to hear the news of Bob’s passing. He was a huge insiration and mentor to me and many others.
My memories of the “shop” that Bob ran, where there must have been almost half a grid worth of formula fords, is one of the best times of my life.
Bob provided the various machines that we all shared and generously helped us all out in our various and sometimes clumsy attempts at race car preparation.
I always remember how he taught me to tig weld aluminum late one night, he set the machine up and said “good night good luck” and left ... too funny. But the first welds I did were used on my car so it must have worked.
Later when we started our own business, Bob came to work for us and I remember how much more I learned and how well we worked together solving all sorts of fabricating problems. My working memory of Bob is of a wonderful relationship filled with good humour and no drama ... just our enjoyment of our work.
Of course the most noticeable quality of working with Bob was his musical mind ... he whistled constantly but without any identifiable melody. I asked him once about what he was whistling, and it appeared he was just expressing energy. Very advanced energy IMHO.
Bob had a positive and brilliant mind and seemed willing to help everyone around him solve whatever problems they had.
After we moved out to Prince Edward County we didn’t see Bob much but we exchanged Christmas cards every year where he would always remind me I had one of his FF engines that he had loaned to me and that I kept for a long time. I did finally return it.
I have all sorts of memories and impressions of Bob that remain with me to this day. Without question he was the finest and most gifted and talented man I have ever worked with.
All our best to you Anne and Amy ... we are sending our love your way.

Condolence: Anne and Amy, please accept our condolences over the loss of Bob. I was thinking that it was almost 40 years ago that I first walked into the MCF shop. Bob was a central part of my life for over 10 years as we shared stories, experiences, travel and challenges. I am smiling as I think of all the adventures! Life is not about existing; it is about experiencing, achieving and sharing. Things that Bob did well. Our lives were made better with Bob in them. I know you must be hurting so much; please know that there are so many of us sharing that pain a little bit and hold you close right now.
