Road Trip

Helen and I have been friends for over 20 years.  We met when she was hired on where I worked. A couple of years ago, she asked if I would go to North Bay with her to deliver cookies, yes cookies, to her insurance broker.  If you know Helen, I need not say more.   She said they were really nice to her and wanted to show her appreciation... I, being a music lover, asked her to put on some music which she did.  Helen never sang out loud and always said she couldn't sing.  I would always say, " it's because you're afraid to sing"...   Eventually, I coaxed her into belting out CCR , Eagles and many other other tunes.  She had a great voice and we sang all the way back to her place.   She said, "Lilypoutine, (one of her nicknames for me), this was the best road trip I've ever had".   Helen and I had a term of endearment for each other which was "S-fam"... meaning "sister from another mother".   She truly was another sister to me,I loved her dearly, my heart is broken.   Rest peacefully my friend !
