Obituary for Katherine Lynn Andrew

Andrew, Katherine L.

Katherine Lynn Andrew September 1, 1970 to August 1, 2017. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Much loved wife of Rob Nicol, who supported her through this entire journey. Predeceased by her mother, Shirley Andrew, and father-in-law, Bill Nicol. Beloved daughter of David (Anne). She will be forever missed by her sister Jenny (Billy) and brother Peter (Joanna). Step sister to Matthew (Soraya). Loving Aunt to Abbie, Olivia and Kendall Joy. Adored daughter-in-law to Sheryl and Fred Tufnel.
Sister-in-law to Arran (Jody) and Adam (Tanya). Aunt to Kate, Will, Harper, Callum, and Campbell. Special cousin to Jonathan and Elizabeth Miller.
Kathy graduated with honors from the University of Guelph in 1993 and it was during her studies there that she met her rock, Rob. Always being there for one another, Kathy was able to support Rob through a career change so that he was able to achieve his true passion of police work. Kathy enjoyed her two black labs, time spent at the Nicol cottage on Crane Lake and traveling (Japan, Europe, Alaska and the Yukon). She touched the lives of many people including many friends and co-workers at the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.
Friends and family would always turn to Kathy throughout the years for sound advice, and her unique and infectious sense of humour. She endured and fought the relentless push of MS for 18 years with courage and bravery. With grace Kathy battled on, enriching the lives of her caregivers, doctors, nurses and PSW's. A special thank you to Dr. Susan Coish for Kathy's dedicated care over many years. Thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health
(Oshawa) and all the staff at Hillsdale Terraces in Oshawa, especially Rosie, Julie, Margaret, Mary Katherine, and Kathy who made Kathy's last few months as comfortable as possible. As per Kathy's wishes, a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm, at the Peel Regional Police Association Banquet Hall, located at 10675 Mississauga Road, Brampton Ontario. The Family will make available a book to take the opportunity to share your fondest memories of Kathy. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Humane Society of Durham Region in Kathy's name. We love you Kathy and will miss you every single day. We know you are now in the comfort of Mom and Joy, being kissed on the face by your lovable labs, River and Boomer, and laughing at the Nicol brothers with Bill.
