Obituary for Bob Hughes
Passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the age of 68.
Beloved father of Mary-Anne (Gavin Higgins) and Sarah Hughes (Chris Medwid). Proud grandpa of Rachel Higgins, Maeve Higgins and Olivia Medwid.
Sadly missed by Jan Hughes and his brothers Rick and Steve Hughes (Mona). Uncle of Richard Hughes, Chris Hughes, Kenny Hughes, Robert McLachlan and the late Scott McLachlan. Son of the late Fred and Iola Hughes.
Bob will also be remembered by Don Zimmer, Pat Carveth, Cheryl McLachlan and his extended family and many friends.
Bob was a proud IBM’er, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 30, Port Hope, devoted volunteer for many years to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Community Care Northumberland, Fare Share Food Bank and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Bob was known for his tireless commitment to organizing Celebrations and Reunions of family and friends, the lives he touched are too numerous to list and he will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home (5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby 905-655-3662) on Saturday June 3rd from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
