The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jean Osborne can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Terry & Bonnie O'Brien & family
Condolence: I deeply regret that I was unable to pay my last respects and attend Mrs. Osborne's funeral service as I only learned of her passing today. Jean was often a surrogate mother to me as I spent many hours with my best friend, her son, Ken, at their home on Durie St. and also at Wasaga Beach during the summer. I knew Jean as a gentle and generous spirit. We extend our deepest sympathy to Jean’s family in their loss and hope that comfort and peace may come to them.

“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.” - Leo Buscaglia

Condolence: To Jean's family: I remember Jean with such fondness. She was a member of that trio of wonderful women on the Sun switchboard. From the day I started back in 1981 as a student at Ryerson and on through 20 years at the paper, Jean greeted me most mornings. I heard her voice as she sent calls my way and depended on her to help me find people and track down those who weren't terribly interested in being found. She was consistently upbeat, patient and endlessly kind. I never saw Jean look down or heard her say a negative word. Jean was a key part of the lives of so many members of the Sun family and she was respected, admired and appreciated. Thank you for sharing Jean with all of us.

Condolence:
Please accept my sincere condolence on Jean's passing to her immediate and Sun families.

She truly was a kind, thoughtful person who will be sorely missed.

Her sunny, helpful personality was always something which helped get my day started upon arrival at 333 King Street East.
