I originally met Donna when she subbed in our bridge club. We enjoyed having her play bridge with us and share stories. One night as we played she told us of having a story in Reader's Digest about a sewing project. I believe it was for her granddaughter who was living in Castlegar in B.C. I took note because I also have a family connection to Castlegar.
I shared my love of sewing, especially quilting, with Donna. She showed me an absolutely beautiful quilt she made for a wedding present . This was a project she worked on as she was enduring her cancer treatments . She had such determination to not let the treatments stop her.
After a trip to Castlegar she presented me with some "fat quarters" she bought for me from Castlegar. I will cherish my memories of Donna as I turn this fabric into a project.
I admired Donna for her spirit .
