Passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge, Whitby, on October 18, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Dearly beloved husband of Rita, and devoted dad to Sharon (Mark Walsh), and Linda (Lorne Johnson). Dear Papa to Samantha, Brook, Alex and Grace. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1930, Eddie was proud of his Scottish roots. He adored both soccer and tennis, playing as a fierce competitor in his younger life, and later, following both sports with extreme enthusiasm. He enjoyed a wide range of music, sang in the shower and in the car, and enjoyed a good book and a frothy cold beer on a sunny afternoon. He loved to walk on the beach, and never acclimatized to Canadian Winters. We will remember his integrity, his wry sense of humour, his humility, and the kindness and generosity he showed to others. He was a true Gentleman.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd, at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road, N. Whitby. Visitation will take place from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service in the Barnes Chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Whitby. Following the interment family and friends are invited to a reception, being held at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
