Passed peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday September 19th, 2017 at the age of 94.
Pre-deceased by his long time Partner William Ainslie. Loving brother of Jean McLean and her husband Alex of Whitby, Anne Cowan and her husband George of Brooklin and Elizabeth Ward (late Henry) of Whitby.
John will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families.

Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Saturday October 7th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life service in the Barnes Chapel Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.

In memory of John, memorial donations to Hearth Place Cancer Support Center in Oshawa would be most appreciated.
