"It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden demise of Sama Parthasarathy Usha who passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital Oshawa, on Monday September 18, 2017 at 12:30 in the afternoon. She is preceded by her husband , Mr. Candade Srinivas Venugopal, who passed away in 2008, and her parents Mr. S.R. Parthasarathy and Mrs. S.R. Mythali Ammal . Usha and Venu , lovingly known as "Mummy" and "Daddy" in their later years to their entire extended family, were married on March 3, 1967 (Chennai-Madras, India) and soon after they left for Birmingham, England to begin their life and dreams together. They were in the UK from 1967-1970, and then headed further "West" immigrating to Toronto, Ontario Canada in October 1970. She retired in June 2013 at the age of 72 years. She provided tremendous care and support for all of her patients and their families and was a strong advocate for mental health education and awareness in the community.

At home she was a pillar of strength for the family , a loving , compassionate and caring mother and grandmother. She had a fondness for music with special training and interest in South Indian Carnatic Vocal music - a passion she shared with her grandaughter Aariya. She is survived by her son Deepak , his wife Lalitha and their daughter Aariya. In addition she is remembered by her eldest sister, Ms. S.P.
