Edith Irene  Woodward
Edith Irene Woodward (Dreher/Dreer) died on June 17th, at Winbourne Park Long Term Care in Ajax, Ontario, age 97. Born in Simcoe, Ontario, August 11, 1919, daughter of Otto (Fred) Dreher/Dreer and Verveine (Vera) Scott.

Predeceased by: her husband, Gordon Harry Woodward 1981; sister, Alice Roberts 2010; sister-in-law, Reta Woodward 2003; and brother-in-law, Fred Woodward 2015.

Loved and respected by her children: Ruth Eddy, deceased 2010 (Allan deceased 2015); Elizabeth Henry (David); Janet Horsnell (Malcolm); Katherine Coutts (Peter); Martha McCracken, deceased 1985 (Terrance deceased 1980); Audrey Thomson (Bob); Dorothy Sheila Woodward (Dave); Lynne McDougall (Rod); and Steven Woodward (Marianne).

Grandmother to Susan, Darrel, David, Leeta, Glenn, Matthew, Scott, Mark, Kerry, Corinna, Matthew, Jordan, Bobby, Petra, Lara, Andrew, and David.

Great-grandmother to Kevin, Cheryl, Austin, Stephen, Bethany, Kyle, Karl, Samantha, Jordan, Zacheria, Shelby, Mackenzie, Olivia, Evelyn, Brandin, Eric, Ian, Aidan, Emily, Christian, Ava, Rachel, Nicole, Joshua, Finley, Fia, Jordan Jr, Jaylee, Aeolus, Zephyrus, Arya, Deondre, and Emelyn.

Great-great-grandmother to Kash, Kaden, Petra, Kacey, Caitlynn, Chelsey, Aidan, and Noah.
Aunt to Elaine, Gloria, Sharon, and Marilyn.

Cousin to Beth Thompson.

Edith lived a simple life, with a strong Christian faith. She was kind, honest, and fair. Her interest in words included: cryptic crosswords, a challenging game of Scrabble, and discovering new words. She enjoyed visits with her family, being in nature, and reading in English and German. “Auf Wiedersehen”

Funeral service at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Road North, Whitby, on Tuesday, June 20th at 1:00 pm, with friends received from 12:15 to 12:55 pm. Interment at Groveside Cemetery, Whitby. Reception, at Barnes, following interment.
