Janet passed away peacefully at home in Bowmanville, holding the hand of her granddaughter Lisa.

Predeceased by parents Rose and Peter, husband Doug and daughter Teri.

Janet is survived by her sister Heather and children Maureen (Doug) and Richard (Sonny) and Teri’s partner Rick Reynolds. She will forever be remembered as a loving grandmother to Lisa, Michelle, Michael, Melisa, Ashley (Tim), Hayley and Laura; great-grandmother to Brian, Tori, Greg, Mackenzie and Jordyn; and aunt to Dawn, Frank, Peter and Kimeo. Janet spent many years working at Centennial College, where she served as a model of integrity, respect and dedication to students and colleagues alike.

To all who knew and loved her, Janet was a pillar of strength, a generous and trusted friend, who approached life from a place of love and kindness.

A celebration of life reception will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby 905-655-3662 on Sunday June 18th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Special memories will be shared at 1:30 p.m.
