The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kirby Hannan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

In our 20's

Kirby and I worked in the inside sales then engineering departments at Leeds and Northrup prior  to his joining Ontario Hydro (OPG). After work we bachelors played ping-pong then go for a few "cool ones".

We also had a few at the pub while watching Paul Henderson score the winning goal in the 1972 Canada/Russia summit series. Kirb was a dedicated engineer, good natured with a dry sense of humour.

One Kirbyism was " They told me to cheer up, things can't get any worse, so I cheered up and sure enough, things got a lot worse". Another one "This company has potential and always will have."

I was always honoured that he asked me to be the best man at his and Sue's wedding and showed my wife Sheila and I hospitality when we visited them at Deep River in 1975.
