Mackie, Ruth Marie (nee Johnson)

Passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour at Bethany Lodge, Markham on Wednesday April 5, 2017 at the age of 84.

Dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Jack B. Mackie (2013) for over 59 years.

Much loved mother of John and his wife Heather of London, Scott and his wife Lucy of Milford MI, Brent and his wife Alison of Pontypool and Pam (late Brian) Ronson and fiancé Kevin May of Ajax.

Cherished grandmother of Melissa, Mark, Benjamin, Kelly, Christina, Kate, Lauren, Natalie, Graham, Jack, Graydon and Jaclyn.

Sister of the late Robert (Elda) Johnson of Orillia.

Lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Sophie Mackie (late Lindsay) and her brother-in-law Ron Mackie (Rose). Pre-deceased by her brother-in-law Boyd Mackie (late Kae) & Gary, and sister-in-laws Vici Lane (late George) and Marion Wilson (late Bill).

Ruth will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Ruth was a faithful member of Forestbrook Community Church (Ajax) and prior to moving to Ajax, Don Valley Bible Chapel (Toronto).

Ruth was born March 12, 1933 to Benjamin and Christena Johnson in Foxmead, Ontario. Ruth became a teacher and enjoyed several years of teaching in the Orillia area. After marrying Jack and having children, Ruth devoted herself to being a homemaker. In 1968 the family moved to Agincourt and after Jack’s retirement moved to Ajax.

Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby (905-655-3662) from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will take place at Forestbrook Community Church (60 Kearney Dr. Ajax) from 11:00 a.m. Monday (April 10) until time of funeral service in the church Monday at 12:30 p.m.

Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband at Erskine Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Lodge for their excellent care of Mom in her later years.
