Retired from General Motors; Durham Heating & Air and Frontenac Mechanical.
Hans passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Thursday March 9th, 2017 at the age of 72.
Much loved and cherished husband of Marion for 46 years. Devoted father of Edward and his wife Claire of Ashburn, Kurtis and his wife Nichole of Oshawa, Karl and his wife Natallie of Ashburn, Erik and his wife Cathy of Newcastle, Daniel and his wife Katherine of Port Perry, and Leon and his wife Emily of Pontypool.
Loving Opa of Gabriel, Theo, Matilda, Hannah, Alina, Oliver, Alex, Henry, Elliott, Cecelia, Ava, Hayden, Derek, Gavin, Audrey and Kees. Predeceased by his two angels, Carter and Isla.
Survived by his brothers Herman, Sjef, Gerard, Harry and his sisters Agnes, Tiny, Marijke, Trix, Trudy, and Nel. Predeceased by his brother Henk.
Survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Sunday March 19th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A funeral service honouring Hans’ life will be held in the Barnes Chapel on Monday March 20th at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health Oshawa or the SickKids Foundation.
