Obituary for Vera Jean Yates
Yates, Vera Jean (nee Reader)
Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Victoria Manor, Lindsay on Friday January 6th, 2017 at the age of 89.
Loving mother of George and his wife Sue of New Hamburg, Louise Parker and her husband Paul of Little Britain and Chris and his wife Sheri of Brooklin. Pre-deceased by her loving son Donald.
Cherished grandma to Kim and her husband Brian Rogers, Ken Witt-Yates and his partner Jane Stockwell, Rob Parker and his wife Emily McIsaac, and Jessica Yates and her partner Rob Baverstock. Remembered with love by six great- grandchildren.
Predeceased by her brother Leonard Reader and her sisters Veronica Palmer (late Steve) and Yvonne Wilson (late Albert).
Vera will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews and their families.
Special thanks to the outstanding staff at Victoria Manor.
Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N., Whitby from 12:00 noon Wednesday (January 11, 2017) until time of Funeral Service in the Barnes Chapel (same location) Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments to follow at the funeral home.
In memory of Vera, donations to Resident’s Council at Victoria Manor, Lindsay would be appreciated and may be made at the funeral home by cheque payable to “Resident’s Council at Victoria Manor” or by mail to Resident’s Council at Victoria Manor, 220 Angeline Street South, Lindsay, On K9V 0J8. Alternately, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
