Condolence From: Blair Stannard
Condolence: My sincere condolences to all of Dave's family and friends.

We were school chums over sixty years ago and one of my best friends, Peter Longmore, lived next door to his family on Killarney Gardens in Pointe Claire.

Condolence: Dave, I cant believe you left so quickly. I want you to know that you made a big impact on my life including working together at Honda and the years following. I always looked forward to our lunches with Essa and Gary
and you promised our next one would be soon. We will
still have that lunch in your honour at Bella Note.
Judy and family, I am so sorry you have lost a great guy
way too soon.

Condolence: We loved Dave. He was our great friend and one of our group. Sharon and Judy were best friends since the age of four and when I met Dave and Judy in May of 1976 I knew I had added two wonderful people to my life. Whether it was the Montreal days, the move to Ontario, dinners in and out, the trips to New Orleans, Ryan's Dominican wedding or the weekend in Prince Edward County, we shared and enjoyed it all. David Nicholls was an honourable, descent man who worked hard, took risks, built a business and provided unselfishly for his family. His generation should be proud to have him as their representative. To his family we offer our deepest condolences. To all his many friends we say we are thankful that Dave was a part of our lives. Dave, rest and be in peace. One day we will all see you. We will come and we will find you no matter what it takes. We will all be together again.

Condolence: My condolences to the family.
I first got to know Dave when hired me over twenty years ago.
He was a great guy to work for. He always treated people with respect even when they did not deserve it!
Later when I started my own business his door was always open. You could count on him for sage advice.
One day I was in his office and he had recently bought a Porsche. I asked how it drove as I had never driven one. He tossed me the keys and said try it out, it sounds great when you redline it! He was right.
We shared an interest in racing as we had both driven in competition, of course this was always a subject for a serious discussion.
After he retired he became a loyal customer himself and sent me many customers .
Dave was a gentleman who will be missed.

Condolence: Dave – you’ve been a great friend since you moved to Montreal West about 55 years ago. A flood of memories. We went through usual teen antics that one doesn’t tell their kids about. Then on to cars - your Bugeye and my Mk II, the MGA and various Triumphs. The Cooper S we put on the track when we didn’t have 2 cents between us – even sharing the one driver suit we had. Great memories with you and Judy, Wanda and I. In recent years the ‘le Circuit Seniors’ going to vintage races re-living our youth and telling the same old lies.
It just ain’t fair. Thanks Dave.
Judy, Melanie and Graham – all my love is with you……..Stewart

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Dave's family. Dave was such a gentleman in every sense of the word. It was his belief in me along with his business partner Gary that allowed me an opportunity to get into the car business back in 2006 at 401 Westney Hyundai. It truly change the direction of my life. His gentle manor and gracious demeanour was a class act and true example to follow. It was a pleasure to have known him.

We all wish you and your family the very best during this difficult time. Based on what I read here, he must have been a very good guy.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I could never thank him enough for the opportunity he gave me 25 years ago, he had faith in me as a young "kid" who loved Hondas, and without a second thought hiring me straight out of school. He helped me spread my wings, and encouraged me to make the best of my gift. Rest in peace, you will always have a special place in my heart.

Condolence: My sympathies go out to Dave's entire family. I worked for Dave for 5 years starting in 2003. Always approachable, always courteous, always considerate and always ready to help where he could, Dave was one of the best owners I have worked for in over 30 years in the business, and I've worked for my share. We didn't see each other too often after 2008, but he always made a point of getting together whenever we were in the same place at the same time. I missed him by a few hours on Saturday. I had the latest copy of Motor Trend for him in my hand. It was a very sad day. Cheers and happy trails to a great boss and a better man.
