Obituary for David Nicholls
Passed away too soon, on Saturday February 27th, 2016 at the age of 68, with his family holding his hand.
Dave was born on April 30, 1947, in Pointe Claire, Quebec to his parents Muriel Brooks and Denis Nicholls.
An avid fan of, and participant in, car racing, with a passion for the automobile itself, Dave pursued and enjoyed a long career in the auto industry. Dave worked at, and was a partner at, various dealerships over the years including BMW, Honda, Nissan and Toyota, with his final pit stop as co-owner of 401-Westney Hyundai in Ajax before his retirement in 2008.
Dave will be sadly missed by his loving wife Judy of 39 years.
Much loved and cherished Dad to Melanie Groeneveld (Steve) and Graham Nicholls (Stephanie).
Greatly missed Papa to Braden, Logan, Reid, Sam, Audrey, Marshall and Ty.
Loved and missed by his sister Andrea Luard and her husband Rod.
Loving brother-in-law of Russell Hynes (Sandra), Margaret DaGloria (Joe), Jennifer Hynes, Kristina Hynes (Pat) and Phil Hynes (Levon).
Caring and missed uncle to his nieces and nephews Lisa (Ron), Heather (Shane), Jonathan, Jason and Jet, Olivier and Emma, as well as his great-nieces and great-nephew Kasey, Cori, Lennox and Carlin.
Dave was a devoted and dear friend to many. Providing humour, kindness, wit and charm to a list too long to mention.
A visitation will be held at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Friday March 4th 6:00-8:00 PM. A service to celebrate David’s life will be held in the Barnes Chapel on Saturday afternoon (March 5th) at 1:00 PM.
In memory of Dave, memorial donations may be thoughtfully made to the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre in Oshawa or Sick Kids in Toronto.
