Obituary for Alsie Athelston Jack
Alsie was a Whitby resident, having retired from General Motors, Oshawa after 30 years in 2013. He left us suddenly, but peacefully, Monday January 11, 2016; finally at rest Thursday January 14th at the age of 61. The much beloved husband of 38 years to Sandra Jack, and father to Toni Peter (Kristian), Crystal Stedman (Paul), and Aaron Jack. The best Grandad to Carmen, Naomi, and Quentin. Dear brother of Ingrid Jack-Edwards (Anton) of Ajax, and Beville Jack of Toronto.
Brother-in-law of Gail Bancroft (Steve Bain) of Georgetown, Douglas Bancroft (Belinda) of Kingston and Brian Bancroft (Jill) of Ottawa. Alsie will be fondly remembered by his friends, neighbours and the many umpires he mentored and worked with both in DRUM, and throughout Canada. He loved the game of baseball, woodworking, camping, finance and travel. He was always willing to lend a hand and help a friend.
Visitation will be at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday January 20th.
Funeral service to be held Thursday January 21st at 1:00 p.m.
In memory of Alsie, donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Society of Canada would be most welcome.
Brother-in-law of Gail Bancroft (Steve Bain) of Georgetown, Douglas Bancroft (Belinda) of Kingston and Brian Bancroft (Jill) of Ottawa.
